Front End/UI Developer – Job Summary (List Format)
- Develop and Maintain Applications: Perform development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for various State of Texas social service web applications, including State Portal, Workflow Management, and others.
- Front-End/UI Development: Lead front-end/UI development using Angular (or similar frameworks), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, SASS, Typescript, ES5/ES6, JSON, and related technologies.
- SDLC Participation: Involved in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- SOA Platform Work: Build and maintain web-based applications within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform using Agile methodologies.
- Authentication & Authorization: Implement and maintain authentication, authorization, caching strategies, and performance tuning in web applications.
- Responsive & Accessible UI: Develop client-facing applications with responsive design and ensure ADA/Accessibility compliance.
- SPA Development: Build Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular or similar JavaScript frameworks.
- Reusable Components: Design and develop self-contained, reusable, and testable UI modules and components.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Utilize test-driven development (TDD) and testing frameworks (e.g., Karma, Jasmine, Selenium) to ensure software quality.
- Technical Documentation: Create and update technical and design documentation as required.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support, bug fixes, system analysis, troubleshooting, and production operations support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams and participate in program design, coding, and test walk-throughs.
- Best Practices: Apply best practices for application design, coding, and deployment in cloud and enterprise environments.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Spring Boot, IBM WebSphere, Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile/tablet UI development is a plus.
- State Client Experience: Experience working with state government/Health and Human Services agencies preferred.
