Description
Hybrid position, Front-end website developer and designer who will collaborate with others to keep WINGS
website and other digital interfaces dynamic, visually compelling and current.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom websites and themes from scratch adhering to best practices and
company brand standards with a particular focus on WordPress development.
- Build and customize modules and WordPress plugins to extend site functionality as required by clients.
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and vendors to deliver high-quality, scalable web
solutions and address hosting, domain and server-related matters as needed.
- Create visually appealing, responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and
modern design principles.
- Translate design concepts, wireframes and prototypes into functional web pages while ensuring a
cohesive user experience across platforms.
- Apply UX/UI best practices, including visual hierarchy, intuitive navigation and consistent branding.
- Develop utilizing WordPress-specific tools and elements such as ACF, custom post types, and
taxonomies.
- Integrate modern JavaScript frameworks with WordPress to create dynamic, interactive features.
- Maintain and optimize WordPress websites for speed, SEO, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and cross browser
compatibility.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of websites, including WordPress plugin and theme
compatibility checks.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the web world, with a focus on WordPress core, plugins,
design trends and tools to ensure sites leverage current technologies effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to non-technical team members and clients as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and expertise in WordPress required.
- This position is a hybrid role – weekly in office time is required.
- 2 year’s experience preferred.
- Experience with WordPress-specific tools such as custom post types, taxonomies, hooks, filters, and the
WordPress REST API.
- Strong grasp of web and UI design principles, including layout, responsiveness and visual consistency
- Solid understanding of web best practices, including responsive design, SEO, and WCAG accessibility
standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug WordPress-specific issues
effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical
stakeholders.
